Muslims waited for more than eight centuries until the prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad’s talk about the conquest of Constantinople was fulfilled, and it was a precious dream and a cherished hope that haunted the leaders and conquerors, and the years.

Where it remained a goal that aroused in the souls an overwhelming desire to achieve it so that the owner of the conquest would be praised by the Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) when he said: “Let you conquer Constantinople.

Attempts began during the reign of Caliph Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, and his insistence on conquest of Constantinople reached the point where he sent two campaigns, the first in the year 49 AH = 666, and the other was its vanguard in the year 54 AH = 673 AD.

And she remained for seven years, carrying out war operations against the Roman fleets in the waters of Constantinople, but she was not able to conquer the powerful city.

The steadfastness of the city increased the Muslims’ desire and determination to reconquer the city; So, the Caliph “Sulaiman bin Abdul-Malik” launched a new campaign in the year (99 AH = 719 AD), saving for her the flower of his soldier and the best of his knights.

He provided them with the most powerful and most deadly weapons, but that did not make it easy for them to open them. The confident city withstood its high walls, and smiled a smile full of confidence and pride that it was safe from the enemies and opponents of time, and slept full of its eyelids with contentment and tranquility.

After that, hope for the conquest of Constantinople was renewed at the beginning of the Ottoman Caliphate, and the pioneers of the dream of conquest reigned over their sultans, and they were among the most enthusiastic people for Islam and imprinted on the life of soldiers.

Where the powerful city besieged both Sultan Bayezid I and Murad II, but their efforts were not crowned with success and victory, and God willing that the conqueror Muhammad II bin Murad II will be the owner of the great conquest and the noble prophetic tidings.

The fall of the powerful city of Constantinople, also known as the Conquest of Constantinople, was marked by the Ottoman Empire's occupation of the capital of the Byzantine Empire.

The mighty city fell on May 29, 1453, the culmination of a 53-day siege that began on April 6, marking the end of the Middle Ages.

The attacking Ottoman army, outnumbering the defenders of Constantinople, was led by the 21-year-old Sultan Mehmed II (later nicknamed "The Conqueror"), while the Byzantine army was led by Emperor Constantine XI Palaiologos.

After the city fell to the Muslim Ottoman army, Sultan Mehmed II made Constantinople the new Ottoman capital, replacing the city of Adranouble.

The conquest of Constantinople and the fall of the Byzantine Empire was a turning point in the late Middle Ages, marking the actual end of the last remnant of the Roman Empire, the great Roman state that began around 27 BC and lasted about 1,500 years.

There are many contemporary historians writing history, they see that the fall of the powerful city of Constantinople is the end of the medieval period, especially in Europe.

The fall of the city also marked a turning point in military history and armies. Since ancient times, cities and castles have relied on ramparts and walls to repel invaders and occupiers.

And the walls of Constantinople, especially the walls of Theodosian, were among the most advanced defense systems in the world at that time, from the Middle Ages.

But these fortifications were overcome with artillery gunpowder, specifically in the form of large cannons and bombs, heralding a change in siege warfare on the city with the help of a Hungarian engineer.
