Indian man wins case against railway

Twenty-two years after filing a case in India, an Indian man earns $186 from the railway company, to prevent exploitation, as the Indian man's lawyer is determined to continue a case to recover his right from the state over the course of 22 years.

The story is that an Indian lawyer filed a lawsuit against the railway company for selling it a ticket that exceeded its base price by about 25 cents, as this case continued for 22 years, to win the case against the state in the end, and he was awarded a compensation of 186 dollars.

The events of this case date back to 1999 after an Indian man bought a ticket from his hometown of Mathura in the state of Uttar Pradesh to go on Christmas Day to Moradabad, 300 km from the region from which he comes.

Then the railway employee sold the Indian man a ticket for about $1.12 instead of the official price at that time of 87.23 cents.

According to the French Press Agency at that time, the lawyer submitted several requests from the company to recover the difference in the amount of money, but it refused and decided to file a lawsuit before the Consumer Protection Court and request compensation from the state.

The Indian man justifies this position, that he rejects the abusive and corrupt practices against the citizens by the railway state and therefore he insisted on obtaining his legitimate and legal right.
