خطر المجاعة في العالم

برنامج الغذاء العالمي حذر من أزمة غذائية  سوف تقترب في الأفق من جرى المناطق المتضررة من الحرب في أوكرانيا ومخاطر تفاقم المجاعة في جميع أنحاء العالم بسبب توقف إنتاج وتصدير منتجات مثل الحبوب والقمح.

حيث أعلن مدير برنامج الغذاء العالمي ديفيد بيسلي، في الوقت "الذي يواجه فيه العالم مستوى غير مسبوق من المجاعة، من المقلق جدا بشكل خاص أن نرى الجوع يظهر في دولة معينة لطالما كان يعتبر مخزن أوروبا".

الخبز والدم

ويضيف بيسلي الذي توجه إلى الحدود بين دولتي بولندا وأوكرانيا حيث آلاف اللاجئين "قد يدفع الرصاص والقنابل في أوكرانيا أزمة الغذاء العالمية إلى مستويات لم يسبق لها مثيل".

حيث إتفقت عاصمتي موسكو وكييف يوم الخميس الماضي على إنشاء ممرات إنسانية، بعد ثمانية أيام من بدء الغزو الروسي, وقال برنامج الغذاء في بيان إن تقارير تشير إلى "نقص خطير" في الأغذية والمياه في كييف وخاركيف.

إرتفاع أسعار السلع

وفي نفس الوقت أضاف البيان "مع وصول شحنات المساعدات الغذائية كل يوم، فإن برنامج الغذاء العالمي يسابق الزمن حتى يتم تخزين هذه المواد الغذائية في المناطق التي يتوقع اندلاع المعارك فيها".

ويحتل موسكو وكييف بنسبة 29% من صادرات القمح على مستوى العالم, ومن المرجح أن تؤدي الاضطرابات الخطيرة في الإنتاج والصادرات للحرب.

إلى ارتفاع أسعار المواد الغذائية التي وصلت إلى أعلى مستوياتها على الإطلاق، وذلك نسبة إلى تقارير الأمم المتحدة بالنسبة للغذاء والدواء.

Risk of Starvation

The World Food Program has warned of a food crisis that will loom on the horizon from the war-affected areas of Ukraine and the risk of exacerbating famine around the world due to the interruption of production and export of products such as grain and wheat.

"At a time when the world is facing an unprecedented level of famine, it is particularly deeply disturbing to see hunger emerge in a particular country that has long been considered Europe's storehouse," said World Food Program Director David Beasley.

"The bullets and bombs in Ukraine may push the global food crisis to unprecedented levels," added Beasley, who went to the border between Poland and Ukraine, where thousands of refugees are.

Where the capitals of Moscow and Kiev agreed last Thursday to establish humanitarian corridors, eight days after the start of the Russian invasion, the WFP said in a statement that reports indicate "serious shortages" of food and water in Kyiv and Kharkiv.
