Farmed Meat |

Farmed Meat

Farmed Meat
Farmed Meat

For many years, the human mind has been trying to find an idea and solve the concept of cultured meat, which dominates the human imagination. Since that time, scientists have been working in laboratory centers in order to obtain cultured meat suitable for human consumption, which can compete with meat from livestock and cows.

And after important stages and developments that this industry and this idea have gone through, these days there is a halt to a new study that would contribute to expanding the production of farmed meat, so that it becomes closer than ever before.

Livestock meat

The study, which was published in the "Development" course, presents an innovative solution that helps produce farmed meat without the old methods that were used previously, when the meat was made with a sample of cattle first.

Then, specialists collect stem cells from tissues that they replicate in a continuous and repeated manner and allow them to transform into primitive fibers that then assemble into muscle tissue.

Biological Sciences

In the latest new study, researchers from the University of Nottingham in England, along with colleagues at the universities of Cambridge, Exeter, Tokyo and Meiji Universities, developed it.

A system of stem cell lines from bovine and sheep embryos that were grown without the need for serum, feed cells or antibiotics.

Meat consumption

Where specialists in the field of meat industry expect that it will contribute in the future to reducing the large costs required by raising livestock, especially with the increase in meat consumption by humans worldwide.

Since the end of World War II, global meat consumption has increased fivefold, from 45 million tons of meat consumed per day in 1950, to about 300 million tons by the end of 2020, according to Slow Food.
