في خبر مفرح, أعلن رئيس بلدية مدينة نيويورك، بيل دي بلازي، أن ساحة منطقة "تايمز سكوير" سوف تشهد عودة احتفالات رأس السنة, مع حلول العام الجديد بعدما منعتها جائحة كورونا من ذلك في نهاية العام الماضي.

حيث صرح رئيس بلدية نيويورك الديموقراطي إن "مئات آلاف الأشخاص سوف يأتون إلى الإحتفال، وسوف نتمكن أخيرًا من الالتقاء مجددًا, سوف يكون الأمر رائعًا".

ولكن أوضح دي بلازيو أنّه سوف يتعين على كل من يرغب في المشاركة في احتفالات رأس السنة التي سوف تنطلق مساء 31 ديسمبر المقبل أن يبرز "دليلًا على تلقيه لقاحًا" مضادًا إلى كوفيد 19 لكي يُسمح له في دخول الساحة.

وقال أيضا أن الاستثناء الوحيد من شرط شهادة التطعيم سوف يكون للأطفال الذين تقل أعمارهم عن 5 أعوام وإلى الأشخاص الذين يحول عليهم سبب طبي دون تلقيهم اللقاح.

موضحا في نفس الوقت أنه سوف يتعين على هؤلاء إبراز نتيجة اختبار سلبية فيروس كوفيد 19 لا تزيد مدّتها عن 72 ساعة.

حيث تتميز في إطلاق القصاصات الورقية في الهواء في ساحة تايمز سكوير خلت, إلا من تجمع صغير من العمال وعائلاتهم تكريما لهم على جهودهم خلال أزمة كورونا.

ومدينة نيويورك التي يزيد عدد سكانها قرابة 8 ملايين نسمة كانت في ربيع عام 2020 بؤرة الوباء في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.

حينها اضطرت السلطات المحلية في فرض إغلاق عام فيها للحد من تفشي فيروس كورونا, والذي تسبب في اكتظاظ مستشفياتهم بالمرضى وحصد يوميا أرواح مئات منهم.

ومنذ يوم 8 نوفمبر, وإعادة فتح الحدود الأمريكية بالكامل، استعادت مدينة نيويورك الفرحة، والتي تعد السياحة شريان أساسي ضمن الإقتصاد الأمريكي، وقدرتها الفائقة بالترحيب بكل الزوار من سائر أنحاء العالم.

In good news, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasey announced that the Times Square area will witness the return of New Year's celebrations, with the advent of the New Year, after the Corona pandemic prevented it from doing so at the end of last year.

But de Blasio made it clear that everyone who wants to participate in the New Year's celebrations, which will start on the evening of December 31, will have to show "proof of having received a vaccine" against Covid 19 in order to be allowed to enter the arena.

He also said that the only exception to the requirement for a certificate of vaccination would be for children under the age of 5 and for people for whom a medical reason prevents them from receiving the vaccine.

He explained at the same time that they will have to present a negative test result for the Covid-19 virus, which does not exceed 72 hours.
