Yesterday, Thursday, the Italian team, Inter Milan, announced on its official website, a record and painful annual financial loss, amounting to 245.6 million euros.

It is the highest ever in the history of Italian clubs, exceeding the annual losses of the Italian Juventus team, which were estimated at 210 million euros.

The Italian team, the holder of the Italian League title, stated in its statement that the club's revenues amounted to 364.7 million euros, compared to losses of 245.6 million euros. He attributed the reasons to the economic and social impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Inter Milan losses

The Inter Milan team explained that the spread of the Corona virus in Italy, mainly led to a decrease in revenues, due to the closure of stadiums, and contractual reductions for sponsors.

Last season, Inter Milan achieved the joy of achieving the 19th Italian league title in its history, which its fans had waited for nearly 11 years, and the title was the first for the new project, which began in 2016, under the leadership of the Chinese company "Suning".

The future of Inter Milan

Despite the painful losses, Inter Milan presented in its statement an optimistic outlook, stressing that it quickly began a policy of rebalancing with two main goals: ensuring financial stability, and maintaining a competitive team on the field.

The team explained the reasons for its optimism, with the large sponsorship deals that it recently concluded, in addition to the beginning of the fans’ return to the stadiums.

Which will ensure that the team will benefit again from a basic source of income, which will contribute to reducing Inter’s losses significantly in the financial year with the season (2021-2022).
