Rasputin
Priest Rasputin

During the reign of the tsars in Russia, specifically in December 1916, the Russian priest Grigory Rasputin was assassinated by Russian nobles who were close to the tsar, to end Rasputin's influence on the ruling royal family in Russia.

Who is Rasputin?

Monk Rasputin was born on January 21, 1869 in the village of Pokrovskoye in Siberia, Belarus, into a family of simple peasant farmers.

He was raised as a farmer before his father sent him to the church and converted to monasticism.

At the end of the nineteenth century, Rasputin toured Russia, during which he was admired by many who met him, thanks to his great intelligence, as well as being a good orator.

Relationship with the palace

With the entry of 1905 Rasputin began his relationship with the royal palace in St. Petersburg, and here his name begins to be associated with great "scandals".

Empress Alexandra, the wife of Tsar Nicholas II, believed that he had miraculous healing powers, as she helped her son, Crown Prince Alexei, who was suffering from hemophilia, which prevents blood clots and the blood and counterfeiting were stopped.

scandals

In light of these developments, Rasputin gained a position and plunged into the world of drinking, women and scandals, as a nickname was associated with him.

Such as the “sex machine” and the “lover” of Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna. The first description may be an exaggeration, but the second description is not true.

Here, there was much talk among the Russians about Rasputin, his life and behavior, between the "holy man" and even the "snake", and the last description was given by the reformist Prime Minister at the time Pyotr Stolpin.

the war

When the First World War broke out in 1914 there was hysteria about the "dark forces around the throne", supporters of an alliance with France, who aspired to defeat Germany militarily.

They see Rasputin as abusing Russian foreign policy, and Rasputin had told an Italian journalist in early 1914: "With God's will, there will be no war."

Rasputin was killed

Where still mystery surrounds the last moments of Rasputin's death, at that time he went to the palace of Prince Felix Yusupov in St. Petersburg, to meet a beautiful girl from the most beautiful women in St. Petersburg.

According to the version, the two people who had assassinated Rasputin, Prince Yusupov and Member of Parliament Vladimir Purishkevich, summoned him to the palace, claiming that his wife Irina wanted to meet him.

Yusupov claims that he gave Rasputin poisoned sweets, but he did not die. After the poisoning failed, Yusupov shot him, but he did not die either. Purishkevich shot him until he fell dead.

But according to some strange accounts, Rasputin avoided sweets, seeing them as harming his special abilities, and palace guards who were interrogated say they heard shots fired in a row.

Bullet in the stomach and drowning

Some accounts say that five aristocrats participated in his assassination under the leadership of Yusupov, and there are those who believe that a larger number participated in the operation.

Another scenario is that the conspirators had to drown him in ice water, but the autopsy stated that Rasputin was actually dead when his body was drowned.

According to his daughter Maria, the then Russian Minister of the Interior, Alexander Protopov, warned Rasputin that there was a plot to assassinate him and demanded that he be isolated for some time, and here the mystery of his visit to the palace is determined as a mysterious secret.

Another version says that Yusupov summoned him to meet the allies of the Empress, who was seeking to declare emergency and seek peace.

Rasputin's prophecies

At the end of the Bolshevik revolution in Russia, Yusupov was exiled to the capital, Paris, where he lived until he reached the age of eighty, and Purishkevich was arrested in Petrograd in 1918, and then released, and he died of typhoid in 1920 during the Russian Civil War.

The violence and chaos that accompanied the Bolshevik revolution, and Saint Petersburg became the city of the devil, here we recall Rasputin's words as a prophecy: "Without me everything will turn into chaos.

And he also spoke about his killing” in the message of Tsar Emperor Nicholas II: “If the nobles do it, the monarchy will fall.” And he was true in that, as the communist revolutionaries executed the royal family in 1918.
