Elephant Owners |

The story of the owners of the elephant

The story of the owners of the elephant
The story of the owners of the elephant

One of the strangest stories in human history, which occurred in the Arabian Peninsula before the birth of the Prophet, upon him be the best prayer, and he completed the delivery fifty days, and that year was called the Year of the Elephant.

In ancient times in the Arabian Peninsula, Yemen had a king named Dhu Nawas, and this king burned the Christians of Najran. One of these Christians was saved by a person named Dos, so Dos went to Caesar Al-Rum, who was a Christian.

But due to the distance between the Romans and Yemen, he could not go, so he sent Caesar of the Romans to the Negus, the ruler of Abyssinia, to avenge the Christians in Yemen, Najran.

Anger of Negus

When the Negus heard the story, he became angry and prepared a great army to Yemen led by Aryat and Abraha. The Negus army defeated the leader of Yemen and Aryat became ruler of Yemen.

After a while, Abraha turned against Aryat and became the ruler of Yemen. The Negus became angry with him and decided to take the ruling from him, but Abraha announced His surrender and loyalty to the Negus, so he pardoned him and kept him as ruler of Yemen.

He built a great church that has no equal on the face of the earth, for the people of the island to perform pilgrimages to it instead of the Kaaba, and Abraha sent delegations to the Arabian Peninsula to invite them to the pilgrimage in the church he built, but the people of the Arabian Peninsula refused to do so.

Who are the owners of the elephant?

The owners of the elephant are a group who came from Yemen from Abyssinia, with the aim of demolishing the Kaaba and sabotaging it, and was headed by Abraha Al-Ashram, and he saw how people prepare for the Hajj season to go to Mecca, so he built a church in Sana’a, and sent a letter to the Negus saying: “I built a church for you.

I am not finished until I spend the Arab pilgrimage to it.” A man from Banu Kinana heard this, so he entered the church at night and tarnished its kiss. Abraha got angry and swore to go to the Kaaba and destroy it, and wrote a letter to the Negus to send him elephants, and they were called the owners of the elephant because they came to Mecca with elephants.

Equipping a great army

Abraha was angry at the decision of the Arabs’ rejection and decided to demolish the Kaaba, and prepared a great army and headed to Mecca, and when the army approached Mecca, I sold Abraha to those who plundered the money of Mecca and sent a messenger to the chief of the people of Mecca and said to him: Find the chief of the people and tell him that Abraha, the king of Yemen is calling you, I came to destroy the Kaaba.

If you surrender, your blood will be injected. So the Messenger came to Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashim, the master of Mecca and Quraish, and Abd al-Muttalib said to him: We have no power over you, and the House has a Lord who protects it. The most beautiful phrase in the history of humanity.

Arrival in Taif

When they passed through Taif, one of the men of Thaqif, Masoud bin Matib, came out to them and said to him: “Oh King, we are your servants, so they sent with him a man called Abu Raghaal, and when they reached an area in Mecca called “Al Mughamis” Abu Raghal died, so Abraha sent a man from Abyssinia named Al Aswad. Ibn Mafsud” to be at the front of the horses, and he commanded them to launch a raid, so he hit Abdul Muttalib Ibn Hisham two hundred camels.

Then Abraha Al-Ashram sent a man called Hanata Al-Hamiri to the people of Makkah and said to him: “Ask about its sheriff, then tell him that I did not come to fight, but I came to demolish this house, the Kaaba.” Hanata went to Makkah and met Abdul Muttalib bin Hashim, and he said to him: “The king He sent me to you to tell you that he did not come to fight unless you fight him, but he came to demolish this house of the Kaaba. Abdul Muttalib answered him: “We have no fight for him.” He said: We will leave between him and the House.

Meet Abdulmutallab

If God is clear between him and him, then by God, we have no strength. He said: So he went with me to him. He said: So he went out with him until he came to the camp. Dhul-Nefar was a friend of Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashim.

He said: What is the singing of a captive man who is not safe from being killed tomorrow or in the evening, but I will send you to Unais, an elephant groomer, and order him to do for you with the king as good as he can?

He magnifies your danger and your standing with him. He said: So he sent to Unais and he came to him and said: This is Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashim, the master of Quraysh, the owner of the Eye of Makkah, who feeds people in the plains and beasts in the mountains, and the king has struck him two hundred camels, so if you can benefit him, benefit him, for he is a friend of mine.”

And when Anis entered Abraha, he said to him: "Oh king! This is the master of Quraish and the owner of Ain Makkah, who feeds people in the plains and the beasts in the mountains, and he wants your permission, for he came to you without opposing you or opposing you, so give him permission." Abdul Muttalib was a handsome, great and powerful man of great prestige.

And when Abraha the Abyssinian saw him, he honored and glorified him, and sat next to him. Abdul Muttalib said to him: “Oh king, you have given me great money, so return it to me.” He said to him: “I liked you when I saw you and I forbade you.

” He said: Why? He said: You came to a house that is your religion and your debt. Your forefathers and I forbade you, so I demolished it, so why did you speak to me about it, and you spoke to me about two hundred camels for you?

defeat the army

He said: I am the owner of these camels, and the house has a Lord who will prevent him. He said: He would not have prevented him from me. He said: You and that. He said: So he ordered his camels and I returned to him.” Abdul Muttalib left him, and told Quraysh what happened and ordered them to disperse in the reefs of Mecca.

And he rode Abraha on the elephant to go to the Kaaba, so the elephant refused to walk, until he hit his head with the pickaxe and also refused to walk, and he entered the troughs in it, but he also refused, so he directed the elephant towards Yemen and started running, redirecting it to Mecca.

Then Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hisham, the master of Mecca and Quraish went to the reefs of Mecca, the mountains, and ordered one of his sons to climb Mount Abu Qais to see what was going on, and the son returned to tell his father that a black cloud was heading from the Red Sea to the land of Mecca.

And then birds came from the sea as if they were hooks, carrying a stone in their beak and two stones in their legs, and then the birds threw the stones they carried at the Abraha army, and it was said: The stone was falling on one of them, and he penetrated him and came out from the other side. As for Abraha, the ruler of Yemen, he was hit by a stone and died in Sanaa, Yemen.
