The World Health Organization reported today, Wednesday, that the mutated Delta of the Corona virus, which is currently responsible for more than 75% of new infections in a number of countries in the world, will become the most dominant strain in the coming months.

The mutant, which first appeared in India, is spread in 124 countries worldwide, with 13 countries joining the list since last week.

danger coming

And compared to 180, six new countries were added where the delta mutant that appeared in Britain is prevalent, and 130 countries (seven new countries).

And in which the beta mutant was spread, which was first detected in South Africa, in addition to 78 countries (three new countries) in which there are mutated Gamma that appeared in Brazil.

The Geneva-based World Health Organization said, "The delta mutant is expected to quickly replace other mutant ones, becoming the dominant strain of the most transmissible coronavirus in the coming months."

The delta mutant has become the cause of more than 75% of new infections in a large number of countries, including India, China, Russia, Indonesia, Australia, Bangladesh, Britain, South Africa, Portugal and Israel.

It is not yet clear, according to WHO reports, the "exact mechanism" that makes this mutant more transmissible compared to other strains.

Diffusion Mutant Delta

According to the organization's statistics, about 3.4 million new infections with the Corona virus were recorded during the week from 12 to 18 July, an increase of 12 percent over the previous week.

With this pathway, this is explained by four factors: the emergence of more transmissible strains, lax public health measures, stronger social mixing, and the fact that many people have not yet received the vaccine.

Injuries high

Over the past week, the number of new cases increased, with thirty percent in the Western Pacific and 21 percent in Europe, according to the organization.

The largest number of injuries was recorded in Indonesia (350,273) with an increase of 44 percent, followed by Britain (296447) and an increase of 41 percent, and then Brazil (287610), which recorded a decrease of 14 percent.

With all these indicators and statistics on injuries and deaths, the weekly number of deaths remains stable, amounting to 57 thousand people, compared to the previous week or last month.
