Eid al-Fitr
Eid al-Fitr

Eid al-Fitr is an Islamic holiday on the first day of the month of Shawwal in which Muslims break the fast and celebrate the completion of the worship of fasting in the month of Ramadan.

Muslims celebrated the first Eid al-Fitr in Islam in the second year of migration after fasting the first of Ramadan in that year, and fasting on the first day of Eid al-Fitr is forbidden.

Feast time

Its duration according to Sharia is only one day, which begins after sunset on the last day of the month of Ramadan and ends with sunset on the first day of the month of Shawwal.

Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi narrated in his Sunnah that the Prophet came to Medina and they had two days to play on them «So the Messenger of God.

Peace and blessings be upon him, said: May God Almighty have replaced you with something better than them on the day of Al-Fitr and the day of sacrifice. ”

So the saying “Eid al-Fitr days” is actually incorrect because it is only one day. The day of Eid is a day of joy and happiness, and the joys of the believers in their world and in the last ones are only thanks to their Master, as God said: ﴿Say with the grace and mercy of God, so let them rejoice.

Advantages of the feast

Eid al-Fitr is distinguished by the poor being rich in the question by paying Zakat al-Fitr, which is required of every Muslim individual who has food for one day and one night on the night of the Eid and is performed before the Eid prayer.

The first act of Eid is the Eid prayer on the morning of the Eid, approximately one third of an hour after sunrise.

And Muslims meet on the Eid and exchange congratulations and visit their family and relatives, and this is what is known as the relationship of kinship, as a Muslim visits his friends and receives his friends and neighbors.

They are kind to the poor. It has been the custom in many Islamic countries for Muslims to eat sweets and exchange them, such as dates or Eid cakes stuffed with dates and others, according to the country and its customs.
