مقتل عشرين شخص على الأقل جراء انفجار أنابيب أوكسجين في مستشفى في بغداد

قالت مصادر طبية إن عشرين شخصا على الأقل من مرضى كورونا توفوا وأصيب عشرات آخرون جراء حريق نتج عن انفجار أنابيب أوكسجين في مستشفى ابن الخطيب جنوبي بغداد, وأضافت المصادر أن القتلى والجرحى سقطوا جراء إصابتهم بحروق وحالات اختناق.

وقال مدير مكتب الجزيرة في بغداد إن وزارة الصحة العراقية وجهت في نقل مرضى مستشفى ابن الخطيب إلى مستشفيات أخرى ونقل المصابين بحروق إلى مدينة الطب في بغداد.

ونقلت وكالة الأناضول عن مصدر في الدفاع المدني العراقي قوله إنه تمت السيطرة على الحريق، وتجري الآن عملية إخلاء المكان من الجثث والمرضى والمصابين.

وأفاد مسؤولون في خدمة الطوارئ في المستشفى بأن كثيرين ماتوا في مستشفى ابن الخطيب بسبب فصلهم عن مصدر الأكسجين، بينما اختنق آخرون بسبب الدخان.

حيث قام الناس يبحثون عن أقاربهم في أجنحة المستشفى المتفحمة, وقال شخص إن الناس كانوا يقفزون من النوافذ للهرب من ألسنة النيران.

Medical sources said that at least twenty people from Corona patients died and dozens of others were injured as a result of a fire caused by the explosion of oxygen tubes in Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital, south of Baghdad, and the sources added that the dead and injured were killed due to burns and suffocation.

The director of the Al-Jazeera office in Baghdad said that the Iraqi Ministry of Health had directed the transfer of patients from Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital to other hospitals and the transfer of the injured with burns to the Medical City in Baghdad.

Anadolu Agency quoted a source in the Iraqi Civil Defense as saying that the fire was under control, and the process of evacuating the dead, sick and injured is underway.

According to hospital emergency service officials, many died in Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital due to being disconnected from the source of oxygen, while others suffocated from smoke.

As people looked for relatives in the charred hospital wards, one person said that people were jumping out of the windows to escape from the flames.
