أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي السابق دونالد ترامب ، الإثنين الماضي ، الافتتاح الرسمي إلى "مكتب الرئيس السابق" في مقاطعة (بالم بيتش) في ولاية فلوريدا ، وهو  المكتب المكلف بالإشراف على الأنشطة الرسمية للرئيس الخامس والأربعين في فترة ما بعد الرئاسة.

وقال المكتب في بيان له: "سوف يكون المكتب مسؤولاً عن إدارة مراسلات الرئيس السابق ترامب وبياناته العامة وظهوره وأنشطته الرسمية لتعزيز مصالح الولايات المتحدة وتنفيذ أجندة إدارة ترامب من خلال المناصرة والتنظيم والنشاط العام", وسوف يكون نصير للشعب الأمريكي.

حيث غادر السيد ترامب والسيدة الأولى السابقة ميلانيا ترامب واشنطن متوجهة إلى فلوريدا صباح يوم 20 يناير ، واختاروا عدم الترحيب بالرئيس جو بايدن والسيدة الأولى الدكتورة جيل بايدن في البيت الأبيض وتخطي تنصيب الرئيس الجديد.
